a confiding smew was on princes park, eastbourne this afternoon. 3 amazing jack snipes were found in a small ditch out on the levels.

2 moorhens in the marina this afternoon.





yday: after an anxious wait the paddyfield warbler finally showed at the breach pool with a jack snipe there too. on chi pits a rh goosander was found on westhampnett pit. we then went to burpham, my first visit here. the rough legged was found straight away as were 2 red kites. it was great to see a red kite mobbing the buzzard, bringing back very fond memories of the rough leg i found at westdean woods which i also saw being mobbed by a kite. and in those days kites were rare too. some bewicks swan were also seen.

yday: a rt hen harrier low over the road by the turning into barcombe res early morning.

an un oiled 1st winter iceland gull was on the undercliff at telscombe this morning then flew e. 2 whitefronts were in the lower cuckmere.

2 drake goosanders flew over arlington this afternoon and a pair were seen nearby.
